LOL

LOL is an acronym that I use pretty often when typing on the computer or texting. "LOL" stands for laugh(ing) out loud, for those of you who don't know this. (Like my sweet, but very low-tech parents.) I am definitely an over-user of the LOL.  Sometimes I'll type LOL, but I'm not actually doing it.  Maybe I'm the only person who is that way.  Maybe everybody else is actually laughing out loud as they type LOL.  I usually just want that person to know that I think what they are saying is funny, even if my laugh isn't audible.  But this past friday I had a couple things happen to me that actually caused me to laugh out loud.

"LOL" moment #1...

I went out to run some errands while Ethan was napping and decided to stop by Home Depot.  I park the car, open the door, step out of the car, and WHOOPS...I slip and fall. Thankfully I was able to catch myself before falling all the way to the ground. It snowed here on thursday and there was still a little bit on the ground. So, I stand up and get myself together and remind myself that I need to be more careful walking on this ice...because one would assume that it's ice, right? Nope! I look down at my feet and what do I find? A banana peel. Yup, you heard me, A BANANA PEEL!!! Really? I thought that only happened in cartoons and on mario kart. But, apparently it also happens to unsuspecting people in the parking lot of Home Depot. I tried to take a picture of the evidence with my phone, but it was already too dark. I did however find this cartoon and clip art...

"LOL" moment #2...
Ever since last wednesday there had been something missing in my life. The sweet sound of my Verizon cell phone ringing! We realized on thursday that I was able to call out, but I was not able to receive any incoming calls.  After waiting to see if the problem would fix itself, I finally broke down and called Verizon friday night. (I so do not enjoy having to make phone calls like this and wait on hold forever!) I explained my situation to the very nice guy and at first he said that he had no idea why my phone would be doing this. I believe he said something like "That seems really strange, let me look into your account and see if I can figure out what the problem is." to be exact. After a few minutes of hold music, he came back on the line and said "Mrs. Howell, it looks like you have forwarded your calls to the number 9." To which I respond "Huh? I barely know how to view my minutes, much less forward my calls. And what do you mean to the number 9?" After a few minutes of chatting and figuring out how to correct the problem, I found out that to forward your calls you just have to press *72 and then type in the phone number that you want your calls forwarded to. *72...9. "Hmm...I think that I know what happened. Thank you so much for all of your help. Have a great night!"  EEETTTHHHHHAAAANNNNN!!! (said in the voice of Dave from Alvin and the chipmunks of course) Yes, my son...who is not even 2 yet took my phone and forwarded my calls to the number 9. :) Who would ever think that such an adorable little angel could make such a big mess? Mommy loves you Ethan!
